At the start of a new year, many find it helpful to set goals for the New Year--whether personal disciplines--like exercise and time management efforts aimed at achieving valued pursuits, or branching off into new horizons---starting a new hobby, learning a new skill, studying a new area of information. Each new year has its opportunities for discovery. Perhaps one of the most common of all goals after the holiday feasting, is the area of keeping a workout routine going. Because of the icy season, many people find it a struggle to go out and sometimes “brave the weather”--even to get to an exercise gym or athletic club; but, for the unafraid, those determined NOT to spend all these months trapped indoors, the Bozeman area has a lot to offer for the outdoor winter sport enthusiast. We LIVE in a winter playground. Between great downhill ski hills, cross country ski paths, a mix of ice rinks for hockey and figure skating or just heading to the sledding hill, there are many ways to get out and enjoy the benefits of all of the great local spots for winter sports and other activities. Nonetheless, you may just want to sit by a fire and sip hot chocolate after your indoor workout, or take a drive to the local library to exercise your MIND on these icy wintery days. Let us know what good January adventures you are presently discovering. Do you have fun family activities anticipated during the winter months? Are you a snowbird--escaping the cold here and journeying south on a longer trip, or are you trying to plan a quick vacation through the many beautiful places around us to visit within this winter landscape? If you are the creative type, you may enjoy going on a hunt for spectacular photos in the area around us. We live in a place that is wonderful for excursions. Try the wintertime view of Yellowstone National Park by way of Mammoth Hot Springs and the Lamar Valley, ending the trip with a good soak in the boiling river hot springs area just outside of mammoth. If you are looking for a hot springs that is a little more developed than a river check out Chico Hot Springs (and the only Five Star restaurant in Montana). But call ahead for reservations! There are also some great "new" opportunities for a nice dining experience around the Gallatin Valley. With a variety of recent restaurants opening, there is a nice list of places to please most any palate. From finer dining to fast food, you could order it to go or invite the whole family to join you around the table, for a unique food experience. If you are staying local, don't forget to catch a local basketball game with the MSU bobcats now well into their season or swing over and watch one of the high school teams here in Gallatin Valley. With the back and forth, melt and freeze weather of the season, it may be helpful to catch a quick wash and potentially an interior detail at our 4 Corners shop. We are open during regular business hours, so stop by anytime within them to get an early start on your next detailing project. What a wonderful beginning to your vehicle adventures this new year! |
