I am often amazed at light's ability to change our perspective. A vehicle that seems to be in pretty good shape when you look it over it in your garage, can have some serious issues revealed when met with the truth of the brilliant rays of the sun. Suddenly the gunk in the stereo knobs and the dog hair build up between the seats have the appearance of some grotesque organism trying to slowly devour your vehicles interior. Not to mention all the dings, scratches, and rub marks that appear on what seemed to be a nice looking car in the shade of a tree. Like life, it takes exposing those issues to the light in order to address them. Once the problems have been identified, they can then be addressed and overcome so that once again, we and our vehicles can reflect the light brilliantly in near perfection.
The other phenomenon that strikes me, as with the featured dually pick up, is that light can change a color's hue. We could stare at this vehicle all day long in the shade, and as it has been detailed, it looks very nice with very few issues. However, if we were to try to match the paint, unless we saw it in the light, we would touch up rock chips and deep scratches with black instead of gray. Then when the light once again revealed the truth, our repairs would be uncomplimentary and instead appear as blemishes. Only in the light can we be sure we are moving in the right direction.
